Test several antennas

Problem environment

Product models may benefit from one or more antenna connections, such as trace, SMA, U.FL, and chip types.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Observe the swtich design
  2. Find the antenna circuit
  3. Determine number and type of antenna

Expected result

One or more antennas are designed that correspond with application tradeoffs.

Actual result

Testing has not yielded information useful in deciding (lack of) antenna design.

Workaround

Include several antennas in the switch and antenna design until information leads to a better choice.

Severity level

This is low priority because project requirements state no antenna quality.

By now several of the original seven antenna designs have been tested and selectively removed. The final design integrates four antenna connections:

  1. Trace (AE1)
  2. Chip (AE5)
  3. U.FL (AE2)
  4. SMA (AE4)
